Major Update to Singapore’s 2024 Study Abroad Policies

1. New Permanent Residency (PR) Policy:

· The requirement of two years of residence for PR applications has been abolished. Now, as long as you study in Singapore and pass national exams, or are enrolled in a comprehensive program, you can apply for PR.

· The approval time for PR applications has been shortened to 6 months, allowing you to obtain your status more quickly!

2. Changes to Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP):

· The long-term visit pass (LTVP) for accompanying family members is no longer limited to female guardians; male guardians can now apply for a long-term visit pass to accompany their children to Singapore! However, note that only one guardian will be allowed.

3. Tuition Fee Reduction Program:

· Singapore has introduced a tuition fee reduction program that offers more scholarships and fee reduction opportunities for international students, making your study abroad journey easier!

4. Expansion of Student Visa Eligibility:

· The scope of student visas has been expanded. Now, students enrolled not only in universities and graduate schools but also in minor programs, internships, and summer courses can apply. This opens up more opportunities to experience Singapore's education system!

5. Extension of Graduate Work Pass:

· The duration of work passes has been extended, giving international students more time to find good jobs and encouraging them to stay in Singapore for career development!
